Drone Zones UK data files

nature-sites.json.gz lists the UK's protected nature sites: Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSIs) in England, Scotland and Wales, and Areas of Special Scientific Interest (ASSIs) in Northern Ireland. The Drone Zones UK app downloads it to show these sites on its map. It's rebuilt weekly from the agencies' open data, with boundaries simplified to about 5 m. It's for information only: each agency's own maps are the authoritative source.

aviation-sites.json.gz lists places where aircraft fly low and other low-level hazards that aren't drone restrictions: airfields and airstrips, gliding, parachuting, microlight, hang gliding and model flying sites, helipads, small arms ranges and similar. The app shows them as advice. It's rebuilt weekly; community sources can be incomplete or out of date, and the UK AIP is the official reference.
